Poker is a card game of skill and chance. It has many variants and is played by a large number of people around the world. There are four types of poker players.<\/p>\n
The game is normally played with one standard 52-card pack, sometimes with the addition of two jokers. The cards are dealt in rotation to each player one at a time face up, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. As the deal progresses, each player may “call” the bets of the player to their left by putting into the pot the same amount of chips as that previous player; or they can raise them. If they choose to drop, they will lose any chips that have already been put into the pot and will not participate in the betting until the next deal.<\/p>\n
During the course of a hand, players can also win by bluffing their opponents. This involves making a bet that suggests their hand is better than it actually is, in the hope that they will cause their opponents to fold instead of risking taking them on in a showdown.<\/p>\n
Depending on the rules of your game, players may establish a fund called a “kitty” which is used to pay for new decks of cards or food and drinks. When the game ends, any chips in the kitty are distributed equally among those players who remain in the game. When the kitty runs out, no further bets can be made unless the players agree to replenish it with additional low-denomination chips.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
